Fun Day for Zoë's Place
Mark Thomas and his family raised £340 through hosting a special Family Fun Day near Coventry. The Fun Day was held at Jack's Entertainment Club in Bedworth, not far from where the new hospice is based, and through collection tins, raffle, tombola and a host of other ideas cooked up (including 'decorating a cupcake') the event was fun for all involved!
Mark also managed to have the amount 'topped up' by Domestic and General who kindly donated a further £50 to make a grand total of £390!
In particular one young man raised £150 through sponsorship, to have his legs waxed!
Many thanks to Mark, Domestic and General and his dedicated team of helpers.
CCFC gives Zoë's Place a boost!
Coventry City Football Club have kindly donated £666.66 from their allocation of the Football Association's Community Sheild Fund.

Inkfish's Nicky runs 54miles
for Zoë's Place!
Nicky, an employee of Inkfish Services, ran an impressive 52 miles in May 2010 in a circuit, to raise £561 for the new hospice. His route took him from Holt, through Worcester, Upton on Severn, Malvern Hills and back to Holt. (In fact he ran an extra four miles as he lost his way a couple of times.)
Nicky kindly chose Zoë's Place Coventry to raise money for through sponsorship, and we all think he's done a cracking job!
Nicky was pleased that he not only completed the run and raised £561.00, that he also managed to do so without sustaining any injuries. Not even one blister.

An extra thank you goes to fixtures Secretary Kevin Pearcey who donated an additional £70 from his team's fundraising from Asda IDC at Magna Park.
Thanks to you all!

Zoë's Garden Party 2010

This year the Garden Party was even bigger and better - with over 60 local businesses and charities holding stalls or pitches at the park, the day was filled with variety.
Fair-ground rides, cream teas, Tombola, Bouncy Castle and a Hog Roast were among other activities to keep you all busy.
We managed to raise £2722.42 at this event - thank you so much to all who attended, we hope you had a lovely time!
This event would not have been possible without the support of Parties by Claire who did a fantastic job of coordinating the event for us. Thanks Claire!
Kindly organised by
Leofric Lions
Our proud association with the Coventry Leofric Lions continues - they kindly donated £4000 to Zoë's Place Coventry towards a specialist cot. This is a very important piece of equipment, and is part of the list of key items which we are still fundraising for - such as a hydrotherapy bath, 4 day cots, and industrial equipment such as hygenic washing facilities and soft furnishings.
Thank you Lions, we look forward to unveiling the cot at the opening ceremony!
Golf Day 2010
in association with Sainsbury's
Our corporate Golf Day held at the Warwickshire Golf Club was a fantastic day - despite high winds and temperamental showers of rain, the golfing teams did a great job of helping us to raise a huge amount for the equipping of the new hospice.
The main auction on the night raised £843.38 and the silent auction £527.29 for a total £1370.67
The Hole in One and Beat the Pro competitions raised £890.
Our total so far is over £11,000!
Thank you so much to all who entered, we hope that the teams will consider joining us again next year - we'll do our best to fix the weather for sunshine!

Newdigate Primary School
A huge thank you to the pupils, parents and friends of Newdigate Primary School for their fundraising efforts - through collections at their own events, they managed to raise £426.80 towards the building and equipping of our new Coventry Hospice.
Well done, and thank you!
Dragon Boat Race
Alsters Kelley entered a team into the Dragon Boat Race, and through sponsorship and donations raised £2558 in total.
The 18 strong team of staff took part in three races across the 250m stretch of river. They narrowly missed a place in the final, but smashed their initial sponsorship target of £1,750.
The team captain and Partner Neil Raiseborough, said, “I’m very proud our team and other generous individuals managed to raise this much money for such a worthy charity.
“It was a fantastic day and everybody enjoyed themselves. I would like to thank those who participated, cheered us on and sponsored us.”
The Alsters Kelley team also received a large donation from a kind man in Long Itchington, who recently celebrated his 80th birthday. He asked family and friends for money in the place of presents, so he could then donate to Zoe’s Place Trust.
Phoenix Inner Wheel
The Phoenix Inner Wheel have genorously donated £1000
towards Zoe's Place in Coventy, after choosing Zoë's Place
Trust as their charity of the year 2009-2010.
